Mare’s milk has been renowned for its therapeutic benefits since ancient times, dating back to the era of Hippocrates and Avicenna. Today, it is gaining renewed interest in health and wellness circles as a natural remedy for boosting the immune system and aiding recovery. Dr. Zharkynbek Kasymbekov, Director of the National Center for Public Health under the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health, highlights the milk’s ability to strengthen the body during chronic illness, recovery from injuries, and general fatigue.

One of the key advantages of mare’s milk is its composition. Unlike cow’s milk, which contains a high level of casein (harder to digest), mare’s milk is rich in albumin, which is easier to digest. It also contains essential enzymes, amino acids, carbohydrates, and minerals that aid digestion, regulate gastrointestinal function, detoxify the liver and bile ducts, and support intestinal flora.

Dr. Kasymbekov notes that those with cardiovascular conditions or lactose intolerance should exercise caution. While suitable for children, the elderly, and pregnant women, it is strongly advised to consult a doctor before beginning any therapeutic regimen.

The mare’s milk therapy season is now open in Kyrgyzstan, with renowned health resorts like Ala-Archa, Jeti-Ögüz, and Jannat Resort offering comprehensive wellness programs that combine traditional healing with modern care.
