A presentation of new publications by the Turkic Academy took place today at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana, during the seminar “Language and Literary Heritage – The Foundation of Unity.” This event brought together key representatives, including Vice President of the Turkic Academy Askhat Kessikbayev, Vice-Rector Ardak Beysenbay of L.N. Gumilyov University, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Agalar Atamoglanov, Kyrgyz Ambassador Dastan Dyushekeev, Turkmen Ambassador Batyr Rejepov, and Omer Inan, Counselor on Education for the Turkish Ambassador, along with numerous diplomats and scholars.
Among the key publications highlighted was the first Kazakh translation of “Tıltutqa,” a collection of works by Crimean Tatar poet and Turkologist Bekir Çobanzade. This publication includes significant contributions to Turkology and aims to bridge gaps in the understanding of Turkic literary heritage.
The Academy also showcased specialized dictionaries on economics, medicine, and military affairs, part of the ongoing “Terminological Dictionaries of Turkic Languages” project, which seeks to standardize scientific terminology across Turkic languages. These dictionaries mark an important step in facilitating unified research and advancing collaboration among Turkic scholars.
Further publications featured included the monograph “Makhtumkuli,” celebrating the 300th anniversary of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Pyragy, and “Ali bey Huseynzade” by Azer Turan, honoring an influential figure in Turkic studies. The collection “Sagynysh sazdary” (“Özlem Terennümleri”), featuring Azerbaijani poets Muhammad Huseyn Shahriyar and Bulud Karachorlu Sahand, was also warmly received, reflecting a dedication to Turkic literary unity.
In his address, Turkic Academy Vice President Askhat Kessikbayev conveyed President Shahin Mustafayev’s message, noting that each publication represents a scholarly and cultural milestone, furthering scientific integration among Turkic nations. Attendees expressed appreciation for the Academy’s commitment to preserving and developing Turkic heritage, underscoring how such efforts foster a shared scientific space and broaden opportunities for scholarly exchange within the Turkic world.
