Kyrgyz director Ulanmyrza Karypbaev has been recognized as the “Best Theater Director of the Turkic World.” This prestigious award was announced by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan.
On February 3, 2024, an International Theater Awards Ceremony was held in Istanbul, organized by the TURKSOY International Organization and the “Tiyatro” Association of Turkey. Every year, TURKSOY honors outstanding theater professionals from Turkic-speaking countries in various categories.
This year, the selection committee of the 10th International Theater Awards granted the title of “Best Theater Director of the Turkic World” to Ulanmyrza Karypbaev, recognizing his exceptional contributions to theater arts across multiple countries.

- Education & Training:
- Graduated from the “Tunguch” Youth Theater Studio (2014).
- Completed Saint Petersburg State Theater Arts Institute in 2020 with honors in Theatrical Directing.
- Received professional retraining in Cultural and Arts Management at the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute.
- Professional Achievements:
- Directed nearly 35 theatrical productions in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia, and South Korea.
- Honored with national and international awards, including those named after Chingiz Aitmatov, Asan Mambetov, and J. Abdykadyrov.
Karypbaev’s artistic contributions have made a significant impact on the Turkic theater scene, and this award recognizes his dedication to preserving and innovating the theatrical arts within the Turkic-speaking world.
