On November 6, 2024, a Turkmen delegation, led by Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, visited Washington to discuss further strengthening economic and environmental cooperation with the United States, according to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with Reta Jo Lewis, President and Chairman of the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EXIM), and Richard Duke, Deputy Special Envoy for Climate at the U.S. Department of State. Discussions covered areas of mutual interest, including expanding bilateral cooperation, climate initiatives, methane emission reductions, and economic, energy, and infrastructure projects.
Both parties emphasized the importance of joint efforts to promote sustainable development and explored ways to mobilize financial and technological resources to support these goals.
