Bayraktar AKINCI, Türkiye’s domestically developed unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), successfully hit targets during firing tests using the ELCIN 82 and LACIN 82 laser guidance kits developed by the Turkish defense company Roketsan. The tests showcased the UCAV’s precision targeting abilities, solidifying its position in advanced defense technology.

The UCAV, a significant player in strategic missions, has achieved 80,000 flight hours, marking a milestone in Turkish aviation history. Bayraktar AKINCI also successfully destroyed the Albatros IDA target above the sea using the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Targeting System developed by Aselsan, one of the most advanced systems of its kind globally.

Baykar, the company behind AKINCI, has emerged as the world’s largest exporter of UCAVs, generating 90% of its revenues from exports. In 2023 alone, the company accounted for one-third of Türkiye’s defense and aerospace exports, with export deals signed in 35 countries for its Bayraktar TB2 and AKINCI models.
