Türkiye celebrated the 101st anniversary of the Republic on October 29, commemorating the nation’s declaration of independence and the legacy of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The Ministry of National Defense expressed its pride, stating, “With the love and trust of our nation, under the sun of the Republic, which Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk referred to as his ‘greatest work,’ and in the shadow of our red flag, we are advancing with firm steps into the future.” The ministry emphasized Türkiye’s progress through indigenous and national technologies and commitment to serving the Turkish nation.
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz echoed these sentiments, saying: “October 29 is the day when this beloved nation declared to the world its passion for independence and its will to live freely.” He praised the resilience of the Turkish nation, which “reborn from the ashes,” is now advancing confidently into the future. “Until now, every threat to our unity, brotherhood and love for our country has failed against the steel will of our nation,” Yilmaz said, honoring the memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and the heroes of the War of Independence.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also extended his congratulations to Turkish citizens worldwide, reaffirming Türkiye’s dedication to elevating its standing globally through a strong and independent foreign policy. First lady Emine Erdogan celebrated the #CenturyofTürkiye, stating, “We are proud to carry the flag… into the future,” and expressed hope that the unity and strength of Türkiye would continue for centuries.
