Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Friday that the United States utilizes terrorist organizations in the Middle East to secure its interests and ensure Israel’s safety. Speaking to journalists on his return from the BRICS summit in Russia, Erdogan remarked, “It is now a known fact that the US uses terrorist organizations in the region for its own interests and for the security of Israel.”

Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s initiative under the UN to impose a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel, as Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon result in daily civilian casualties. He noted, “The number of countries backing Ankara’s call for an arms embargo on Israel is growing,” expressing optimism that the Alliance of Humanity would lead to lasting peace.

Addressing the recent PKK terror attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) in Ankara, which caused numerous casualties, Erdogan asserted Türkiye’s commitment to eradicating terrorism at its source. Following the attack, Turkish forces launched airstrikes targeting PKK/YPG positions in Iraq and Syria. “Our goal is a Türkiye without terrorism,” Erdogan stated, adding that groups like the PYD/YPG, linked to the PKK, will be left isolated. “The terrorist group that exploits instability in Syria is wasting its efforts to seek the patronage of certain Western countries,” he remarked.
