Türkiye’s first domestically designed multirole utility helicopter, the T625 Gokbey, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), has reached a new milestone in national defense with the integration of Aselsan’s advanced avionics systems. Delivered today to the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command, the helicopter will perform its missions with fully Turkish-supplied technology.
Aselsan confirmed on Tuesday that the T625 Gokbey is now outfitted with 34 unique avionics systems, including a flight control computer, national communication systems, modular displays, identification, navigation systems, and more. Designed to meet international standards, Aselsan’s systems empower the T625 Gokbey to perform at a competitive level in global civil and defense aviation.
With experience in upgrading over 1,100 aircraft, Aselsan’s homegrown avionics expertise spans a variety of platforms like helicopters and UAVs. The company’s robust product line offers mission-specific solutions, and its close collaboration with TAI dates back to the T129 Atak helicopter. Aselsan’s technology in the T129, now in service in the Philippines and Nigeria, exemplifies Türkiye’s export capacity in the defense sector.
