The Turkic World Engineers and Architects Union (TDMMB) delegation, visiting the TRNC as part of the International Conference on Climate Change and the Investment and Cooperation Development Program, held a meeting with the Turkish Cypriot Municipalities Union.

The delegation included Turkey’s former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Akif Özkaldı, alongside scientists, business representatives, and experts in engineering and architecture. Participants from the Turkish Cypriot Municipalities Union included its president and Güzelyurt Mayor Mahmut Özçınar, Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan, Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel Mayor Fırat Ataser, Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok, Mehmetçik-Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu, and the union’s director Muammer Güneş.

The discussions focused on sustainable urban development, engineering, and architecture within the context of climate change.

Expressing his satisfaction with hosting the delegation, Mahmut Özçınar underlined the value of their work and emphasized the importance of local development. He highlighted the significance of input from municipal leaders. The meeting concluded with a consensus on developing joint projects and enhancing cooperation in the future.
