Tourist numbers in Kyrgyzstan increased by 80,317 people in 2024 compared to 2023, with 8,625,086 visitors crossing the country’s borders for purposes classified as “tourism,” “private trips,” or “business trips.”
According to the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, the majority of tourists in 2024 came from:
- Uzbekistan: 61.7% of the total
- Kazakhstan: 28.3%
- Russia: 5.6%
Other notable sources of visitors included China, Turkey, India, Germany, Pakistan, South Korea, the USA, France, the UK, UAE, Malaysia, and Belarus.
Seasonal Trends:
Tourist arrivals peaked in the third quarter of 2024 (July–September) with over 2.8 million visitors, followed by the second quarter with 2.3 million. The first quarter saw approximately 1.6 million visitors, reflecting seasonal variations in tourism activity.
This consistent growth underscores Kyrgyzstan’s increasing appeal as a tourist destination, driven by its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and expanding tourism infrastructure.
