During his address at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the potential role of BRICS in enhancing the representation of medium-sized and developing countries in global governance. “Addressing the root causes of conflicts such as poverty, inequality, and lack of education remains a key factor in strengthening international political solidarity. Kazakhstan supports the reform of the UN Security Council to include new members from Africa, Latin America, and Asia,” said Tokayev.

The summit, held from October 22 to 24, brought together several world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
