Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, will host the VI International Film Forum of Women Directors between 27 and 29 November 2024. The event, dedicated to the renowned Kyrgyz actress and director Klara Yusupzhanova, will feature a range of activities, including film screenings, masterclasses, round tables, and discussions. These sessions will offer a platform for women directors to share experiences, explore challenges, and discuss pressing social issues.

The forum, organized by Asel Zhuraeva, aims to unite women filmmakers on a single platform to find solutions to common challenges. Held annually since 2016, the forum is supported by the Creative Women of Asia Foundation. The previous, fifth-anniversary edition took place in 2023 in Osh.

Klara Yusupzhanova, the forum’s honoree, became famous after her debut in the 1963 film Heat, which cemented her name in the cinematic world.
