Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TURKSOY, has been honored with the D. Mehmet Doğan Turkic World Literature Award as part of the annual “Writers, Thinkers, and Artists Awards” organized by the Turkish Writers’ Union (TYB). The announcement was made by TYB President Prof. Dr. Musa Kâzım Arıcan during a press conference held on January 1, 2025.
Raev is celebrated for his literary and cultural contributions to the Turkic World. His works, including The Fifth Day of the Week and The Child Who Held the Sun, have been widely acclaimed and serve as a bridge between Turkic and global literature. Expressing his gratitude for the award, Raev stated that it motivates him to continue creating impactful literary works.
During the event, TYB President Arıcan commemorated the late D. Mehmet Doğan, TYB’s founding president, emphasizing his lasting legacy in Turkish literature and thought. The awards aim to honor accomplished writers and inspire emerging talents.
