Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to discuss enhancing their strategic partnership. Tokayev emphasized the deep historical ties between Kazakhs and Hungarians and stressed the importance of cooperation in energy, trade, and cultural exchange.

A key focus of the discussions was the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, a vital trade route linking Asia and Europe. Agreements were signed with Hungarian and Chinese companies to strengthen logistics and transport infrastructure.

In the energy sector, Kazakhstan pledged to boost exports of energy, metallurgy, petrochemicals, and agricultural products to Hungary. Both leaders agreed to work towards achieving a $1 billion trade volume target.

Cultural and educational cooperation was also highlighted, with Tokayev expressing gratitude to Hungary for providing scholarships to Kazakh students and participating in international events such as the Nomad Games in Astana.

Tokayev and Orbán reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties through multilateral platforms such as the UN, OSCE, and the Organization of Turkic States, signaling a new era in Kazakhstan-Hungary relations.
