Today, the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan, in collaboration with Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, hosted the presentation of a monograph by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Sweden, Doctor of Political Sciences Rakhmatilla Nurimbetov. The work, titled “Uzbekistan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” delves into Uzbekistan’s role within the SCO.

Rector of TSUOS Gulchekhra Rikhsieva and the Center’s Director Kobiljon Sobirov emphasized the academic significance of the book and its relevance for studying Uzbekistan’s contributions to the SCO. They noted that the monograph builds on the 2022 publication “The Changing World and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.”

In his presentation, R. Nurimbetov summarized key findings, highlighting Uzbekistan’s role in the SCO’s economic cooperation and regional security initiatives. The monograph also includes data and analyses of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic efforts within the organization.

Experts, including Professor Etibor Sultanova and others, discussed the SCO’s role in fostering stability and multilateral partnerships in Central Asia, as well as Uzbekistan’s strategic approaches and priorities within the organization.

The event concluded with interactive discussions where students received answers to their questions. The monograph serves as a valuable resource for understanding Uzbekistan’s role and status in international organizations.
