On November 29, Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov met with the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Aisen Nikolaev, at “Intymak Ordo.” The meeting emphasized the cultural and historical ties between Kyrgyzstan and Yakutia, alongside the strategic partnership with Russia.
Sadyr Japarov highlighted the significance of cultural and sports events such as the tour of Yakutia’s Opera and Ballet Theater and the World Hapsagay Championship. He also expressed optimism about the upcoming Mas-Wrestling Championship.
The discussions focused on enhancing trade and economic cooperation, attracting investments, and establishing joint ventures. The President proposed mutual business missions and underscored the tourism potential of both regions.
Historical legacies were also honored, including the commemoration of Maksim Ammosov in Bishkek and Chyngyz Aitmatov in Yakutia. Plans for the Yakutia Cultural Days in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 were announced.
Aisen Nikolaev noted the increasing trade turnover between the regions and proposed holding the “Children of Asia” street games in Kyrgyzstan in 2026, symbolizing friendship and promoting sports collaboration.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives to strengthen cooperation.
