The 41st Istanbul International Book Fair is set to open on November 2, with Azerbaijan participating as an honored guest. Over ten Azerbaijani publishers and writers will attend, presenting special projects focused on Azerbaijani culture. Among the highlights at Azerbaijan’s pavilion will be publications by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

In an interview with AZERTAC, Gunel Yaz, the foundation’s spokesperson, shared details about the Foundation’s participation, including the presentation of With You, Türkiye, a poetry anthology, and Mevlud, a book by the great Turkish thinker Suleyman Celebi, printed in both Turkish and German. The anthology, With You, Türkiye, is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Türkiye on February 6, featuring poems by renowned poets from the Turkic world.

Foundation President Aktoty Raimkulova’s welcome message will be read at the fair’s opening. Additionally, authors are scheduled to discuss the foundation’s mission, present their works, and recite their poetry.

On the fair’s final day, the foundation will commemorate Azerbaijan’s People’s Poet Vagif Samadoghlu’s 85th anniversary, with a presentation of his Turkish-translated book I Am Here, O Lord.

Gunel Yaz emphasized the foundation’s prominent role at the Istanbul International Book Fair, adding, “The foundation’s participation highlights the shared cultural and historical heritage between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, and Azerbaijan’s honored guest status at an event of such cultural importance in Türkiye underlines our shared cultural and historical heritage.”

Organized by TÜYAP in collaboration with the Turkish Publishers Association, the fair will run from November 2 to 4, with a diverse Azerbaijani delegation of public figures, state officials, writers, and artists, spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.
