Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has encouraged Kazakhstan’s citizens to buy domestically made automobiles to support local industry. Speaking at a government meeting, Bektenov highlighted that Kazakhstan’s machinery market has a capacity of $31.6 billion, yet only 16% of it is covered by local production.
“Over the last five years, Kazakhstan’s machinery industry has tripled, with production exceeding 4 trillion tenge in 2023,” he stated. He noted the country’s potential for growth in exports and emphasized that Kazakh factories are capable of producing world-standard products, including batteries, transformers, cables, locomotives, and vehicles, which are successfully sold internationally. Bektenov called for “economic patriotism” by encouraging citizens to buy and promote Kazakh products.
