The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) has attracted over $13 billion in investments to Kazakhstan’s economy. Of this total, $5.9 billion represents portfolio investments made through the AIX Exchange, while $7.3 billion is tied to companies operating within the AIFC. Currently, around 3,200 companies from over 80 countries are active within the AIFC, including six major Armenian companies specializing in information technology, financial services, and insurance.
The presidents were also briefed on the activities of the AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre, as well as the unique features of the AIFC’s legal system. Furthermore, they were informed about the work of the AIFC Financial Services Regulatory Committee. A memorandum of understanding was signed between this committee and the Central Bank of Armenia, focused on cooperation in banking, insurance, and securities market regulation and supervision.
