Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the discussion, the leaders emphasized the strong brotherhood and friendship between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, which are built on a foundation of strategic cooperation.
The conversation touched upon regional developments in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, particularly the situation in Syria following the collapse of the Assad regime. President Aliyev conveyed congratulations to the Syrian people and expressed optimism for a new era of stability in Syria with Türkiye’s support.
Aliyev affirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to work alongside Türkiye to help resolve humanitarian issues in Syria. President Erdoğan also expressed his satisfaction with Türkiye and Azerbaijan’s joint efforts to provide humanitarian aid and support to the Syrian people.
The leaders also exchanged views on the future of the strategic alliance between their nations, underscoring their commitment to further collaboration.
