President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 10 as part of a working visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and addressing pressing issues in the region. The presidential aircraft touched down at King Khalid International Airport, where Saudi officials had arranged a ceremonial welcome, complete with a red carpet and a formation of the Honor Guard to receive the Kyrgyz head of state. Upon his arrival, President Japarov was greeted by Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Province, representing Saudi Arabia’s warm welcome.

During this working visit, President Japarov is scheduled to participate in an extraordinary Islamic Summit organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This summit gathers leaders and representatives from OIC member states to discuss critical developments affecting the Islamic world, particularly the ongoing situations in Palestine, southern Lebanon, and the Middle East region more broadly. The summit agenda reflects a deep concern among Islamic countries regarding recent escalations and the pressing humanitarian and political issues in these areas.

In the summit, President Japarov and other leaders will deliberate on coordinated responses to the conflicts and consider the ways in which OIC member states can support peace and stability. Issues surrounding humanitarian aid, refugee support, and measures to mitigate regional tensions are also expected to be part of the discussions. Kyrgyzstan, as a member of the OIC, has expressed a commitment to contributing to peace efforts and supporting initiatives that promote security and cooperation among nations in the Islamic world.

President Japarov’s visit also provides an opportunity for him to engage in bilateral discussions with Saudi leaders, exploring ways to enhance relations between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia. Both nations are expected to discuss potential areas of cooperation, including economic investment, cultural exchange, and joint efforts in education and technology. Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan share a history of diplomatic relations, and this visit aims to further solidify these ties through mutual interests and shared goals.

The Islamic Summit in Riyadh underscores the importance of solidarity among OIC member countries in addressing challenges facing the Muslim world. The gathering of leaders reflects a collective will to address issues of common concern, promoting unity and support across member states. President Japarov’s participation reaffirms Kyrgyzstan’s role and commitment within the OIC, as well as its dedication to fostering peace and stability in the region.
