Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the heads of leading oil companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan on March 4, discussing new opportunities for multilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The meeting brought together Nail Maganov, CEO of Russia’s “Tatneft,” Askhat Khassenov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan’s “KazMunayQaz,” and Bakhodirjon Sidikov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan’s “Uzbeknefteqaz.”

President Aliyev emphasized that a new phase of multilateral cooperation is beginning, with preparatory work successfully completed. He noted that strong production relations have already been established among the oil companies of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, and that bilateral projects have been implemented. He highlighted the importance of consolidating efforts to enhance these collaborations.

The Azerbaijani leader also underlined the role of quadrilateral cooperation in joint production and the execution of orders for friendly countries. The discussions covered the prospects of this newly established cooperation format, with the expectation that it will contribute to further economic integration among the countries involved.

The leaders also addressed key areas for collaboration under the new framework, including emergency response coordination, digital technology and software optimization, joint procurement, and industrial development.

It was noted that this new cooperation platform remains open to the participation of other foreign companies in the future.
