Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with Dmitri Kiselyov, Director-General of Rossiya SegodnyaInternational News Agency, sharply criticized France’s current policies. Aliyev pointed out the restrictions on the Corsican language and its prohibition in public spaces, questioning the compatibility of such actions with democracy and human rights.

“If they ban the Corsican language in the heart of Europe, what can be said about New Caledonia? Is this democracy? Are these human rights?” Aliyev asked.

He remarked that France was once a great country, home to renowned thinkers, scientists, and writers, but under Macron’s regime, it is turning into an ominous state.
