President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Türkiye “sincerely” seeks to enhance its cooperation with the BRICS bloc. Speaking at a gathering of Justice and Development (AK) Party officials in Ankara, Erdogan expressed his belief that the ongoing BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, will play a key role in strengthening Türkiye’s ties with the group.

The summit in Kazan has brought together the leaders of BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – along with 22 heads of state and six heads of international organizations. Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the UAE, who recently joined BRICS, are also participating. Erdogan is expected to attend the summit as a guest on Wednesday.
