Following high-level talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his country’s firm support for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Speaking at a joint press conference, Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to backing the Turkish Cypriot people in multilateral forums, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

“Pakistan renews its support for the people of the TRNC,” Sharif said, noting that Islamabad would maintain this cooperation across international platforms.

This latest statement mirrors Sharif’s similar declaration in 2022, when he voiced strong solidarity with the Turkish Cypriot cause.
