The World Leaders’ Climate Action Summit, hosted as part of COP29, will take place in Baku from November 12 to 13, 2024. Over 80 world leaders, including 50 presidents, 10 vice presidents, 20 prime ministers, and two crown princes, are scheduled to deliver official statements focusing on climate action and global environmental strategies.
On the summit’s first day, high-level leaders such as Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Poland’s President Andrzej Duda will address the audience. Additional notable figures, including European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will also be among the speakers.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman will join a lineup of prominent international leaders at the summit. In cases where state or government leaders are unable to present on these dates, a high-level segment on November 19-20 will provide another platform for national statements.
The second day of the summit on November 13 will see the participation of additional state and government leaders. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency Chairman, the President of Mongolia, the Vice Presidents of Brazil, Tanzania, and Angola, as well as prime ministers from Greece, Croatia, Malta, Italy, Georgia, Hungary, Albania, Pakistan, Russia, the Netherlands, Denmark, and other countries will present their views and commitments to tackling climate change.
