The Tourism Training Program of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on December 3-6, 2024, in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, with the participation of representatives from the Member States. The event was organized in line with decisions made at the 8th Meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Tourism Affairs of the OTS and hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with the Akimat of Turkistan and the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of Turkistan.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Zulpyhar Zholdasov, First Deputy Akim of the Turkistan Region. They also met with Mr. Nurtas Karipbaev, Chairman of the Committee of Tourism Industry of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan, Mr. Alibek Shokparov, Rector of the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of Turkistan, and other Kazakh officials.

During the program, tourism professionals visited key destinations in Turkistan, including the ancient cities of Otrar and Sauran. They were informed by Kazakh officials about best practices and developments in the region. Discussions were held on increasing tourist mobility within the Turkic States and attracting more international visitors to the area.

Participants also exchanged ideas on enhancing collaboration in tourism through the development of new projects and plans. They were briefed about OTS activities in the field of tourism.
