The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) took steps to deepen their collaboration in renewable energy at a meeting held during COP29 on November 15, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan. The discussion focused on shared priorities and strategies for expanding cooperation in green technologies and sustainable energy development.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of OTS, praised IRENA’s contributions to advancing renewable energy and green technology projects across its member states. He highlighted the growing importance of partnerships to achieve sustainability goals and foster innovation in clean energy sectors.

Both organizations emphasized the need to create actionable strategies for energy transition and climate resilience, signaling their commitment to strengthening ties. This collaboration is expected to pave the way for joint initiatives, further driving progress in renewable energy within Turkic states.
