The film Kachkyn by director Dastan Zhapara Ryskelde will premiere nationwide in Kyrgyzstan on January 9, 2025, after its exclusive screening at the “Manas” cinema on January 7. The film has already gained international acclaim, premiering at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. It later participated in major festivals like the Cottbus Film Festival in Germany and was selected for screenings at the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles, Eurasia International Film Festival in Kazakhstan, Goa Film Festival in India, and the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh this January.
Kachkyn addresses critical social issues, including safe migration and modern slavery, which resonate with millions worldwide. It is a joint production of the National Kyrgyzfilm Studio named after T. Okeev and the Creative Center & CTR.
The cast includes prominent actors such as Abylai Maratov, Omurbek Izrailov, Meerim Atantaeva, Begayym Asanakunova, Zhenishbek Smanov, Atai Omurbekov, and Akylbek Murataliev. The film’s producer is Suyum Sulaymanova.
