Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held discussions with Michelle Simmons, Microsoft’s President for Central Europe and Central Asia, on expanding cooperation in the IT sector and creating a comprehensive startup ecosystem.

Tokayev was informed that Microsoft’s Kazakhstan office has been upgraded into a multiregional hub, now encompassing Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia, and Pakistan. The President emphasized Kazakhstan’s active work on AI legislation to harness its potential for innovation and economic growth. Next year, Kazakhstan plans to establish a National Artificial Intelligence Center as the foundation for the country’s digital transformation.

Michelle Simmons highlighted Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to digital development in Kazakhstan, promising fruitful cooperation on future initiatives.
