A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committees of Turkic States’ Parliaments was held in Istanbul. In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Fuat Oktay, stated that relations with the Turkic world continue to develop multilaterally, emphasizing, “The cooperation mechanisms we have built with great efforts as the Turkic world are institutionalizing in all areas today and gaining solid foundations.”
Oktay noted that platforms established within the framework of existing Turkic cooperation organizations are closely monitored on the international stage and have risen to a prestigious position where third countries seek cooperation. He also highlighted the need to increase trade cooperation among Turkic countries, stating that intensive work is being carried out in areas such as energy, the middle corridor, investments, and connectivity.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Turkish Investment Fund, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkic States (TTSO), and ministries attended the meeting.
