Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, on February 26 during his working visit to Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade, economic and cultural relations, as well as collaboration in the fields of energy and transport logistics.

President Japarov reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Turkmenistan and expressed gratitude for its support in energy supply. He also emphasized the significant potential for transport and logistics cooperation between the two nations and welcomed the positive dynamics in trade relations.

Japarov highlighted the importance of joint efforts in addressing regional and global challenges through multilateral platforms.

In response, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov expressed appreciation for the warm reception and noted that President Japarov’s state visit to Turkmenistan in 2021 was a crucial step in advancing bilateral relations. He reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to deepen cooperation, emphasizing that joint efforts would further strengthen the brotherly and friendly ties between the two nations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Japarov expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan would continue to develop on a solid foundation.
