Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov signed the Law on Ratification of the Treaty on Deepening and Expanding Allied Relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, which was signed on April 19, 2024, in Astana.

The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on October 30, 2024.

The primary goal of the Treaty is to further strengthen Kyrgyz-Kazakh good-neighborly relations in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership.

This Treaty complements the Treaty of Eternal Friendship (April 8, 1997) and the Treaty of Allied Relations (December 25, 2003). It also opens new opportunities for advancing bilateral cooperation.

The agreement provides a significant boost to the comprehensive development of bilateral ties in political, military-technical, economic, investment, transit-transport, water-energy, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as in migration and environmental security between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
