President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, will visit Azerbaijan from November 11 to 13 for an official visit to participate in the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) and a high-level dialogue on the role of mountains and climate change, organized by Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Mongolia.
On November 12, President Japarov will attend the opening ceremony of the Climate Summit in Baku and deliver a speech at the plenary session of the conference. On November 13, a high-level event titled “High-Level Dialogue: Advancing the Mountain Agenda and Addressing the Issue of Mountains and Climate Change,” organized by Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Mongolia, will take place, where key speeches will be made by President Japarov, President Khurelsukh of Mongolia, President Ram Chandra Paudel of Nepal, and other leaders of delegations.
Additionally, bilateral meetings between President Japarov and other heads of state are planned during the conference. This year, Kyrgyzstan will also unveil a colorful national pavilion under the theme “Kyrgyzstan: Sustainable Mountain Development” at COP29. The pavilion will feature daily presentations on climate change, energy, trade, tourism, and investment potential, as well as cultural events and exhibitions showcasing national mountain products such as honey, dried fruits, and traditional beverages.
