Kazakhstan is seeing significant growth in the production and leasing of agricultural machinery. According to the Industrial Investors Union, agricultural machinery production currently stands at 263 billion tenge and is projected to reach 300 billion tenge by 2025. Kazakhstan has eight plants manufacturing tractors and combine harvesters, fully meeting farmers’ annual demands, while over 20 additional facilities produce agricultural attachments, reducing import dependence.

Kazakhstan’s subsidy support for local machinery is attracting global interest, including that of John Deere, which plans to expand its local presence through an assembly collaboration with Eurasia Group and Baiterek Holding. This partnership aims to strengthen local production capacities with advanced technologies, digital transformation, and enhanced efficiency in agriculture.

In 2023, Kazakhstan launched a subsidized leasing program for domestic agricultural equipment with a 5% interest rate, and the budget for this program is set to increase to 200 billion tenge in 2024. As of October 1, 2023, 8,796 units of agricultural machinery were sold, a 52% increase from the previous year. Kazakhstan also aims to set a record in oilseed product exports to China, underscoring the success of these initiatives.
