The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kazakhstan and artist Aigerim Karibayeva unveiled a unique illustration celebrating winter sports and supporting Kazakhstan’s athletes at the upcoming Winter Asian Games in Harbin, scheduled for February 7–14, 2025.

The illustration, presented in an ethno-modern style, features depictions of short track, figure skating, hockey, speed skating, and skiing. It combines Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage with modern artistic elements, incorporating national ornaments and shades of blue to symbolize Kazakh identity.

Artist’s Perspective:
“While working on the illustration, I wanted to highlight each sport individually, showcasing their distinct characteristics while maintaining a cohesive composition. I explored various techniques to capture the essence of each sport and designed unique outfits for the characters. I also aimed to reflect Kazakh identity through national motifs and traditional colors. The result is both visually striking and culturally meaningful,” said Karibayeva.

NOC’s Vision:
“This illustration represents more than just support for our athletes. It shows the synergy between sports and art, both of which have the power to unite people. Major competitions like the Asian Games are not only sporting events but also cultural exchanges. This artwork highlights Kazakh sports while showcasing our rich cultural heritage,” commented Gulnaz Shukenova, PR and Marketing Director of the NOC.

Kazakhstan will participate in biathlon, curling, ski mountaineering, hockey, short track, speed skating, cross-country skiing, freestyle acrobatics, alpine skiing, and figure skating at the Winter Asian Games.
