Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, held an official meeting with the Ambassador of Iran, Ali Akbar Joukar, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Saparov highlighted a robust increase in trade turnover between the two countries, reporting a total of $72.4 million in agricultural trade in the first two months of 2025 — a 147.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Kazakhstan currently exports a wide range of products to Iran, including wheat, barley, meat from both cattle and sheep, oilseeds, corn, vegetables, and legumes.
The Minister stated that Kazakhstan is prepared to boost annual wheat exports to 2 million tons and barley to 1 million tons.
Ambassador Joukar confirmed Iran’s strong interest in expanding cooperation, particularly in establishing joint agricultural ventures and increasing the volume of grain imports.
Both sides agreed to deepen collaboration within the Kazakhstan-Iran working group framework, aiming to strengthen strategic ties in the agri-food sector.
