Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route as a key priority for Kazakhstan, given the current geopolitical context. Speaking at the Council of Foreign Investors meeting in Astana, he emphasized the country’s role as a major Eurasian transit hub.

“We plan to renovate 11,000 kilometers of old railway lines and build more than 5,000 kilometers of new rail lines. The development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is a key priority. This route will enable trade between Europe and Asia with an annual capacity of 10 million tons,” said Tokayev. He added that Kazakhstan prioritizes infrastructure investment in the Middle Corridor, including the construction of new cargo terminals and joint transport vessels.

Tokayev noted, “The comprehensive reconstruction of the nation’s road network is also crucial for our development. This year alone, we have built or renovated approximately 12,000 kilometers of roads.”
