Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of the partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan during his official state visit to Astana. He described Kazakhstan as Russia’s strategic partner and reliable ally.

— Kazakhstan is our strategic partner and reliable ally. While there are challenges, we are always ready to find solutions together. I cannot think of a single issue that we couldn’t resolve jointly. This mindset inspires further cooperation, — Putin said.

The talks covered a wide range of topics, including trade, logistics, energy, scientific collaboration, and cultural ties. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, underlined that the relationship between the two nations is built on a solid foundation of strategic partnership and alliance.

President Putin extended an invitation to Tokayev for an informal pre-New Year meeting in St. Petersburg.

Putin’s visit coincides with the CSTO Security Council session to be held in Astana.
