Kazakhstan’s role in supporting Azerbaijan’s hosting of the 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku reinforces the city’s position as an international center for solving global issues. Kazakh Parliament member Erlan Sairov emphasized Azerbaijan’s increasing influence in international matters and congratulated the “brotherly country” for its strengthened role on the world stage.
“Kazakhstan is pleased to see the growing importance of our brotherly country Azerbaijan in the international arena,” said Sairov, emphasizing Azerbaijan’s greater role in solving pressing global challenges.
According to Sairov, climate change is one of today’s critical global threats, impacting the survival of civilizations. He highlighted the strategic importance of decisions to be made at COP29 in Baku, noting the need for collective action to address greenhouse gas emissions and manage natural resources sustainably.
Expressing confidence in Azerbaijan’s organizational capabilities, Sairov wished the event success at both organizational and intellectual levels. Notably, this year Kazakhstan will present its own pavilion at COP29 for the first time in many years. The 150-square-meter pavilion will showcase Kazakhstan’s achievements in ecology and sustainable development, featuring spaces for discussions, panel sessions, and meetings for signing memorandums with global companies, banks, and international partners.
