At the Foreign Investors’ Council meeting in Astana, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the country’s nuclear energy potential. Kazakhstan, as the world’s largest uranium producer, possesses an almost complete nuclear fuel cycle.

The President stated, “As you may know, a recent national referendum endorsed the construction of Kazakhstan’s first nuclear power plant, a long-term investment in our energy security. We are currently working on establishing an international consortium for this project.” Tokayev added that a consortium would bring together leading global companies with advanced technologies for nuclear energy development in Kazakhstan.
