Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy is actively working on expanding export routes and enhancing the country’s energy security. As part of this strategy, discussions are ongoing regarding the potential supply of Kazakh oil to Hungary.

According to the ministry, the technical feasibility of transporting oil has been confirmed, paving the way for commercial negotiations. Kazakhstan’s national oil company, KazMunayGas, and Hungary’s MOL Group are discussing key aspects such as supply volumes, pricing, and transit conditions. Additionally, test shipments are being considered to assess the long-term potential of the partnership.

The final delivery schedules and conditions will be determined once negotiations are completed and agreements are signed. The issue of oil exports was also discussed during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev and Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó.
