Kazakhstan continues to bolster its agricultural sector, not only meeting domestic demand but also expanding its agricultural exports. According to Kazakhstan Railways (KTJ), grain exports have significantly increased this year, especially for barley, lentils, and corn. Kazakhstan has resumed barley exports to Iran, increasing shipments eightfold in recent months.

In the 2024/25 marketing year, Kazakhstan aims to set a record by reaching $250 million in oilseed product exports to China. Yadkar Ibragimov, Chairman of the National Association of Oilseed Processors, highlighted the strong demand for Kazakh high-protein feed in China, where contracts worth $56 million were signed at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

China remains the largest importer of Kazakh oilseed products. With support from relevant ministries and the registration of 24 Kazakh factories with Chinese customs, Kazakhstan is poised to increase oil and feed exports to China, targeting $300 million over the next two years.

Kazakhstan’s participation in CIIE-2024 marks a significant step in expanding its exports to China, strengthening the country’s trade position in Asia. Its proximity to major markets such as China, Russia, Iran, and Central Asian countries enhances Kazakhstan’s agricultural export potential.
