Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded the Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Zhang Xiao, with the “Dostyk” Order, 2nd degree, Kazinform reports citing Akorda.
During the meeting, the President emphasized the strong ties of friendship and good-neighborliness that have historically connected Kazakhstan and China. He highlighted the deepening cooperation based on mutual trust and respect.
President Tokayev noted the dynamic and multifaceted nature of relations between the two countries, with active political dialogue, strengthening trade and economic ties, cultural exchanges, increasing educational programs, and scientific collaborations. Close cooperation in security, particularly in combating the “three evils,” was also emphasized. The two nations actively engage on international platforms, including the UN, SCO, CICA, and the “Central Asia – China” format. President Tokayev described the relationship as exemplary.
Ambassador Zhang Xiao expressed gratitude and reaffirmed China’s commitment to further developing the comprehensive strategic partnership with Kazakhstan.
In recognition of Zhang Xiao’s contributions to strengthening the bonds of friendship and good-neighborliness, as well as fostering successful Kazakh-Chinese cooperation, President Tokayev awarded him the “Dostyk” Order, 2nd degree.
