The United States is intensifying its deportation of illegal immigrants following Donald Trump’s return to the presidency. New immigration policies include a military presence at the southern border, restrictions on asylum applications, and an accelerated deportation process.

According to data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), 1,445,549 non-citizens are currently on deportation lists, including 369 Kazakh nationals. Other notable groups include Russia (3,518), Ukraine (1,862), Uzbekistan (975), and Azerbaijan (709).

The situation at the U.S.-Mexico border has become particularly difficult. After the cancellation of the “CBP One” app, which facilitated legal entries, around 30,000 migrants were left stranded. It is believed that Kazakh citizens are among those affected.

Illegal routes from Kazakhstan to the U.S. have become more common, often involving flights through Qatar, Brazil, and Colombia before traveling by land through Central America. Many migrants rely on organized smuggling networks, making the journey even more dangerous.

While the U.S. government acknowledges that it cannot deport all illegal immigrants immediately, priority is given to those with criminal records and those unable to prove legal grounds for asylum. As deportations continue, many Kazakh migrants in the U.S. are seeking legal pathways to remain.
