Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the Chair of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko. Tokayev emphasized the upward trajectory of relations between Kazakhstan and Russia, crediting Vladimir Putin’s recent visit for giving a significant boost to their strategic partnership.

He underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy and acknowledged the contributions of lawmakers in promoting mutually beneficial cooperation. Matviyenko expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from Vladimir Putin, who highly valued the visit’s productive outcomes.

During the meeting, discussions included issues such as trade turnover, investments, major projects in industry, energy, and agriculture, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
