President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan met with the president of CMA CGM, a global shipping leader, focusing on the development of Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics infrastructure. Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s strategic position as a crucial transit point for East-West and North-South routes. Discussions covered cooperation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, investments in Aktau Port’s logistics infrastructure, and the construction of container ships for Caspian Sea ports. Founded in 1978 in France, CMA CGM is a leading global shipping company with annual revenues of $47 billion and over 600 container ships in 160 countries. Tokayev also held talks with the president of France’s nuclear company Orano S.A., further strengthening bilateral ties.
