For the first time, Azerbaijan has taken the Royal Windsor Horse Show by storm, presenting a powerful blend of culture and equestrian heritage. Held in the United Kingdom, the prestigious 2025 event saw a 130-member Azerbaijani delegation, the country’s most extensive representation to date.

Supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and coordinated by the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, the delegation delivered a standout performance titled “Azerbaijan – Land of Fire”. The show featured 20 Karabakh horses, riders from the State Border Service, and traditional Azerbaijani music and dance.

British audiences were enchanted by the performance’s energy and artistry. Highlights included live renditions of classics such as “Yallı,” “Qaytağı,” “İncə bellim,” and “Azerbaijan”, all played on traditional instruments. The cavalry’s synchronized movements, culminating with the unfurling of Azerbaijan and UK flags, brought the crowd to its feet.

The program was led by Govkhar Hasanzadeh, with choreography by Farid Ibrahimov, and musical direction by Samed Vakilov. Following the main event, a reception at Windsor Castle featured piano performances by Honoured Artists Afag Abbasova and Saadat Ismayilova.

Azerbaijan’s showcase continues until May 18, with a special “Land of Fire” polo match scheduled for May 17.
