Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced the creation of a joint energy working group with Azerbaijan during a meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev on January 21 in Tehran.
Paknejad emphasized that this initiative aims to explore technical collaboration between the two nations. He highlighted that Iran’s foreign policy prioritizes relationships with neighboring countries and underlined Azerbaijan’s strategic significance in this context.
Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev echoed the sentiment, noting that mutual visits and discussions are essential for exploring the countries’ shared potential and infrastructure.
The announcement coincided with the 16th meeting of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission, a two-day event that began on January 21 in Tehran, aimed at strengthening ties across multiple sectors.
