Hungarian President Sulyok Tamás was welcomed in Ankara with a military ceremony by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The discussions focused on the historic friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations.

According to the Hungarian Presidential Office, the two countries share goals to deepen cooperation in energy, security, defense industry, economy, and cultural sectors. The year 2025 has been designated as the “Hungarian-Turkish Science and Innovation Year,” aiming to foster joint research projects and educational exchanges.

It was emphasized that Türkiye is an indispensable partner for the European Union in areas such as energy security, trade, counter-terrorism, and regional stability. The discussions also highlighted Türkiye’s efforts in protecting the rights of religious minorities and providing humanitarian aid.

The visit concluded with the gala concert of the Hungarian-Turkish Cultural Year in Ankara, featuring performances by artists from both nations showcasing classical and folk music traditions.
